Do Good Podcast · Ep 83: Jo Dunn on supporting parents in their birth choices

Jo Dunn on supporting parents in their birth choices

Jo is a bonafide birth nerd who has undertaken multiple doula trainings to become a birthkeeper. She believes giving birth unfettered by the constraints of hospital systems, fear and the stories of others is a woman’s birthright.

Today she supports women to birth their babies in their power at home. Elevating the needs of women as they grow their family and transition into this phase of mothering is at the heart of her work as a Birthkeeper.

In 2020 Jo embarked upon twelve glorious weeks of unlearning with The Radical Birth Keeper School, an authentic midwifery course that nudged her even closer to following her instinct to support home birth and birthing communities who choose to birth outside of the medical system.

She works to guide people to ‘unlearn’ the cultural narrative that birth is unsafe by bringing them to a deep understanding of birth physiology and how to trust and listen to their body, pregnancy through mothering.
